Gearing up for a job interview? Be ready for the dreaded interview question: “Tell me about yourself…” with these hire-me-perfect lead-ins.
- “I can summarize who I am in one word.” The confidence grabs their attention immediately and the statement demonstrates your ability to be concise, creative and compelling.
- “My best friends say that I’m…” This response offers insight into your own level of self-awareness.
- “My passion is…” Give the interviewer insight into your hobbies, interests and passions–because passion unearths enthusiasm.
- “When I was a kid, I always wanted to be…” Finish the statement with something that is related to the job you’re applying for — an answer like this shows that you’ve been preparing for this job your whole life, not just the night before.
