Almost six out of 10 consumers say they are considering buying a hybrid car. However only about 4 out of every 100 cars purchased in 2010 were hybrids. Thinking of making the switch? Consider these MPG estimates all from the government’s fuel economy site.

2011 Toyota Prius: 51 MPG

2011 Honda Civic: 43 MPG

2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid: 41 MPG

And if you really want to save money on gas:

2011 Nissan Leaf Electric: 106 city/ 92 highway

Even non-hybrid choices can get better gas mileage than your gas guzzling ride:

2011 Mini Cooper: 37 MPG

Audi A3 Diesel: 42 MPG
